Promotion of young apprentice chefs since 1975

This national youth contest for young apprentice chefs, initiated by Founder-President Rudolf Achenbach, has been funded by the Achenbach Delicatessen Manufactory since 1975. It is organized in cooperation with the German chefs association VKD (Verband der Köche Deutschlands e. V.).

As the eldest contest of its kind, it has become the annual highlight of the profession with significant value for the participants, providing attractive rewards and best opportunities for  their professional career. Since 1975 more than 40.000 young chefs have competed nationwide in this prestigious award, which in 2018 was carried out in its 44th consecutive year.
